Jack Traps is Hiring! Apply Now!February 28, 2014 9:00 am Leave your thoughts
Jack Traps Ice Fishing Outfitters is seeking a well-rounded individual for a full time position as our manufacturing manager at our facility in Monmouth, ME. Jack Traps, Inc. is a manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of the highest quality ice fishing traps, or tip-ups, available today. Additionally we retail a wide variety of the highest quality ice fishing gear and live bait all winter.
The individual selected for the position will primarily head our manufacturing process. We are seeking an individual with high-level woodworking, drill press and carpentry experience. Initially the job will include hands on, monotonous work – drill press operation, wood finishing, ice fishing trap assembly and other manufacturing related activities. All applicants should be good with their hands, be able to do one task for long periods of time, and have significant experience with woodworking, a drill press, hammer and screw gun. The position offers significant long term growth prospects and persons applying should have a long-term outlook on the company’s manufacturing operations — over time their primary tasks will evolve from hands-on manufacturing to managing others and creating a more efficient, larger-scale manufacturing operation as the company and sales volume grows.
Additional near-term tasks will include, but are not limited to retail store operations, stocking, inventory, shipping, bait tank maintenance and various other office/store/shop related tasks. Experience in those tasks is not required, but will be looked upon favorably. Experience with computers and email a plus. A knowledge and passion for fishing, especially ice fishing is also a plus.
As a company we pride ourselves greatly on customer service, quality and workmanship. Applicants must be friendly, easy to talk to and extremely thorough in the quality of their work. As the premium product on the market the manufacturing manager must have significant attention to detail. Individual should be an open, fast learner with the ambition to grow within the position.
Initial pay scale will be in line with a manufacturing position and relative to experience level — long term compensation levels have the potential to be significant if the individual is seeking a career as they grow within the position and with the company.
Please provide a resume and cover letter with a list of three references to firstname.lastname@example.org — phone inquiries will not be accepted, walk-in resume drop offs welcome.
