Bait Shop Open for Business!

Well we are expanding our offering outside of ice fishing a bit here at Jack Traps and will be carrying live bait ALL YEAR for all you open water fisherman! We’ve also added some open water tackle and gear to our inventory so when your headed out in your boat this spring fishing season be sure to stop on by and see us to gear up! We have plenty of live smelts, shiners, crawlers and preserved bait on hand to land you the big one! Also available are those hard to find sewing hooks and slider rigs in a variety of hook sizes, as well as some very nice locally made trolling spoons.

 

We decided this morning instead of working we would rather take the boat out for it’s maiden voyage of the 2014 season down to Cochnewagon Lake. We had lots of action, lost a few nice brown trout beside the boat (we like to call that easy catch-and-release) and pulled a few smaller ones in with tons of activity on the fish finder all morning! As the water warms up in the coming weeks the fishing should get hot! Check out the nice 3lb Brookie Jack landed on a live sewn-on smelt!
